James F. Fitzgerald (Jim) grew up on a family farm located in Asotin/ Garfield Counties. The family’s homestead was established in 1876 and remains within the family. Jim graduated from Washington State University and then worked for the Federal Land Bank, as a loan officer for two years before returning to the family farm. After farming dryland wheat, barley and cattle for twenty years he accepted a position with USDA as the Farm Service Agency Executive Director for Washington State from 2001-2006 and served from the State Office located in Spokane, Washington. Fitzgerald then served as Chief of Staff for USDA Rural Development in Washington DC from 2006-2008 where he was in charge of day to day operations for over 6800 employees located in 832 offices across the United States, Puerto Rico and Guam. Fitzgerald accepted the position of Executive Director with the Far West Agribusiness Association in August 2008.
Jim is a licensed pilot and when not at work, he enjoys spending weekends at his family farm. He also enjoys spending time in the shop at his home near Cheney, Washington, working on his Harley Davidson motorcycle among many other projects. Jim is married to his wife Christine of 35 years and they have two grown children and two granddaughters.
Karen has worked in a variety of industries as a bookkeeper including the motion picture, construction, retail, and associations. Through these diverse industries, Karen has gained valuable experience in all areas of bookkeeping, financial and budgetary processes. Being fairly new to Spokane, Karen and her husband, Cliff, enjoy exploring the Spokane area, traveling, golfing, playing pickleball, and spending time with their family.
Errin joined FWAA in March 2016. In addition to her administrative duties, Errin serves as the administrator for the NWCCA region. She is involved in the social media marketing and website presence for FWAA, as well as event organization and other member services. Errin is a Whitman County native and resides in her hometown of Steptoe, Washington, with her husband Scot.
